About Us

Amanda’s Kitchen is a local catering company, dedicated to high-quality cuisine, service and presentation. Our food is fresh, original, flavorful and creative with influences from the Mediterranean, Asia and California. Everything we cook and bake in our kitchen is made from scratch, using fresh and seasonal ingredients.

We work with you, according to your budget, to create a custom-made menu for your event. We give you peace of mind by offering a personal service from initial consultation to designing the menu and executing the event. We take care of all the details so you can be free to enjoy your event. We are mindful and accommodating of food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Amanda’s Kitchen caters for receptions, workplace events, house parties, luncheons (including brown bags), Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties, small weddings, graduations, brits, staff appreciation, showers and any event you might have in mind. Our events range from 20 to 350 guests. We relish the challenges of each individual and unique event.

Amanda’s Kitchen caters events in your home or workplace as well in a variety of approved locations (see below) and spaces in and around the Ann Arbor area.

We provide full service events (seated or buffet) or give you the choice of delivery and/or set up. We work with a local Bar Service, Equipment Rental Company and can provide you with a recommended list of vendors including event planners, florists, invitation designers, balloon décor specialists and disc jockeys that we have worked with.

We provide Kosher (Conservative approved) supervision if required, and can provide Kosher (Conservative) menus for Bar and Bat Mitzva luncheons, Kiddushes and parties.

About Chef Amanda Fisher
Amanda Fisher has broad experience in many restaurants and catering companies. She has worked with some of the best chefs in the San Francisco Bay Area (Paula Le Duc, Cesar), Boston (The Catered Affair, Salamander), Jerusalem (Te’enim, Tmol Shilsom) and Tel Aviv (Herbert Samuel, Messa). Amanda has been the executive chef and manager of catering companies in Berkeley California and in Israel. She has studied at the Hebrew University and at the California Culinary Institute. Amanda is the executive chef and owner of Amanda’s Kitchen.

About Karan Balmar:
Karan has many years of experience in the culinary field. She is currently the kitchen coordinator at Beth Israel Congregation and the kitchen manager at the JCC of Ann Arbor.

Karan enjoys all aspects of her job, from meeting the clients, working with them to find out their needs, to the end result when they are satisfied with their party or event. It is a physically demanding job but fun and rewarding.
